Photo Facial/Photo Rejuvenation Therapy is often referred to as “The Lunchtime Facelift.” The light-emitting diode (LED) based procedure employs an intensive pulsed light (IPL) which utilizes therapeutic red and infrared light combined with a gentle restorative massage. The IPL modality penetrates the skin to stimulate cell growth, protein production, healing, and repair from below the skin’s surface. This therapy reduces wrinkles and fine lines via collagen remodeling. The skin’s natural collagen production is increased by up to 50%. The results are similar to a collagen injection, yet the 30-minute procedure requires no needles. Unlike laser therapies or plastic surgery, this is a non-abrasive treatment, so there is no “downtime” following the procedure. The procedure is evolutionary, not revolutionary, and a series of treatments is needed to receive the maximum benefits.
